PAINTING ON GLASS - WEEKEND WORKSHOP WITH JEFFREY HAMILTON

Don't miss the opportunity to learn the traditional techniques of stained glass painting (this skill is not widely taught these days). Join a weekend session with renowned stained glass artist Jeffrey Hamilton. Jeff will instruct participants on glass painting and firing techniques. Experience line painting, tonal application (matt and wash) and silver staining. Beginner and intermediate students welcome.

Expand your creative horisons. Often, much time is spent on learning how to construct sound leadlights. But, what about design, drawing, colour and glass choices that are key elements for consideration when building effective and creative leadlights. Join Jeff for a weekend that explores design fundamentals. Beginners and intermediate students welcome.
Jeff has an extensive CV in stained glass and leadlight art. Recent public stained glass commission - Majestas Domini, St Bede's Catholic Church, Pyrmont (2009). Jeff has been involved in numerous group and solo exhibitions since 1982 including 'Stained - A Current Glimpse, Wagga Wagga City Art Gallery 2007', an exhibition highlighting some of Australia's finest stained glass artists at that time. Jeff is represented by Aldagate Gallery, Hartley, NSW and Studio Dome, Marrickville, NSW. Jeff has instructed on painting, leadlight, design and drawing for many years

COMBINED SILVER ART CLAY WITH GLASS , KATHRYN WARDILL
Silver clay looks and works like normal clay, but is actually 92-98% pure silver. When you fire the clay using a kiln, the impurities (binders) burn out and you have 99.9% fine silver remaining. Combine this exciting product with kiln fired glass and the results are endless.
Join Kathryn - Master of Arts (Fine Art - Silver and Gold Smithing) and learn some of the basic techniques in shaping and forming art clay using the different products available. Once the piece is fired you will learn all the different techniques of polishing.
Workshop options - 1, 2 or 3 days.
1 day workshop - join Vicki Hill for a short course in kiln fired glass cabuchons. Learn how to cut and fire Bullseye Glass for the purpose of making small pendants to be used with silver art clay. Cost $90 all materials included. Friday 18th June 2010.
2 day workshop - Kathryn Wardill will teach the process of combining kiln formed glass with art clay. Learn the processes of clay forming around kiln fired glass, firing glass and clay together in same project, and polishing silver. Cost $275 all materials included. Sat 19th/Sun 20th June 2010.
3 day workshop - join Vicki and Kathryn over 3 days and learn the whole process of combining glass and silver art clay in a kiln to form jewellery. (1 day with Vicki, 2 days with Kathryn). Cost $365 Fri 18th, Sat 19th, Sun 20th June, 2010. All materials included.

GLASS BEADMAKING WITH KATHRYN WARDILL
Join Kathryn Wardill - Master of Fine Arts, Silversmith, jewellery artist, and international exhibitor, for a few fabulous days of glass beadmaking (suitable for either the beginner or intermediate student). Kathryn's classes are extremely well structured and her knowledge of glass beadmaking is extensive. Kathryn is currently the only certified ISGB instructor in Australia. Students will work with Bullseye glass over a Hot Head Torch.
